The Register - Biting the hand that feeds IT

With more than 5 million readers, The Register is the one of the world's biggest online tech publications.

It has news desks in London, San Francisco and Sydney to make sure you get the news you need wherever and whenever it happens. And it has columnists who'll give you an interesting take on the implications.

It has an active community of IT Pros from across the world, who discuss everything from cloud to chips, systems design to sys admins, Virtualisation to Vatican bloggers, Latvian hackers to liquid crystal raygun turrets.

For an original slant on the world of technology, you could do worse.

The Register. It's where tech lives.

Customer Reviews

Quite a good app, rendered infuriating by adverts

The title says it all. The app works well, the addition of comments made a big difference (although you can't vote on them like you can on the web version).

BUT.. And it's a big 'but'.... The Office365 banner advert, flashing and blinking, in those horrid colours simply distracts to the point of fury.

Truly, this advert alone stops me using this otherwise good app.

Ok but cold be better

As a long term reader of the reg on the web, the app is ok but has some drawbacks. It seems the main feed has some arbitrary filter so I miss stories which I would have seen on the web. But the worst is the office adds - the flashing is intrusive to the point that I can't bear to view the page - whoever thought that this was a good idea wants shooting - its lost the reg and Microsoft a load of traffic.

Makes each day worthwhile

The Register is part of my daily routine. Having the app on both my phone and tablet makes journeys especially fun. Good layout and easy to use. Keep up the great work chap.
