Now everyone can play back their memories of FINAL FANTASY in an endlessly expansive app: THEATRHYTHM FINAL FANTASY!
THEATRHYTHM FINAL FANTASY, the first music game in the FINAL FANTASY series, has been augmented with more songs and new playable characters to make it easier to dive into and play than ever before! Now it makes its debut as an iOS app that allows for communication with users from around the world in an unlimited adventure!
■With Quest Medleys, every time that you play, it’s a new adventure! New enjoyment to be found in each game!
The iOS version of THEATRHYTHM FINAL FANTASY adds the Quest Medley mode, where you can play through songs you’ve purchased in a rhythmical gauntlet! Each quest is a set made up of a single FMS and a single BMS, and each time that you play, you will find yourself facing different songs, different levels of difficulties, and different rewards for completion—enjoy the thrill of a music game where the sense of adventure never fades! Being able to play on your iOS device by touching anywhere on the screen gives you more freedom as a player, as you operate the game with ease.
Music Stages in the iOS Version
・FMS (Field Music Stage)
Slide across the screen in undulating waves that rise and fall in time to the slower-paced songs in these stages.
・BMS (Battle Music Stage)
Flick and tap to the furious beat to hit the Triggers flowing before each character in these fast-paced songs.
■Leveling up your character hinges on clearing tough songs! What else could you expect from a FINAL FANTASY music game?
Each time that you play through a song, your characters will gain experience. This app makes it easier than ever to enjoy developing your characters, as you simply level them up and the abilities gained by doing so are automatically equipped to your characters to be triggered during the music stages. In addition to the three regular scores of differing levels—the Basic, Expert, and Ultimate scores—you’ll gain a further three Illusive Scores for each song: arrangements of the regular scores with similarly varying levels of difficulty. Collect the shards of these Illusive Scores by clearing Quest Medleys and open up new adventures. Whether you are a novice or an experienced veteran, you’ll be able to find a way to play that fits your level!
■Use Twitter to tell the world about the scores you create yourself and share them with players everywhere!
Players themselves can create their own original scores by trying their hand at the Compose Scores mode! Upload your scores onto the server, or download the scores made by other players around the world—it is the players themselves who make the challenges of this game beyond limit. When you link the app up to your Twitter account, you can Tweet not only about the results of your play but also announce the uploading of your original scores to the server. And who knows—you might even find some scores made by the developers and the creators among the original scores uploaded each day!
For all the iPod users
This app will not work on your iPod and there's really no point getting this app unless you have an iPad/iPad Mini. I use the iPad Mini and this game really good and definitely worth getting. I know Square Enix is being hated for their insane prices but this game doesn't apply as much. This game was published on the 3DS and you were made to pay a lot for it, well on this you only have to buy your favourite songs. I'm going to give this app a 5 star but the price of a character is ridiculous you have to pay 2 pounds for 4 songs but 1.50 for a character, if you reduced it to 69p i might consider it, but overall you've done a great job once again SQUARE ENIX you've made me happy to own many of your games. Oh, and I'd like to add that you don't have to pay again to get your dlc, it comes up with an acknowledgement of your previous payment afterwards. And please stop hating on the song prices because we all know that you think it's ok to buy songs for 99p on iTunes but its not ok for 4 songs for 2 pounds which is 50p for a song! I would like to add that recently lots of lagging has occurred which is really getting quite annoying because i love this game and i am playing all the time. Fix This!
I loved this game on the 3DS, which I no longer have. So I was over the moon to see it come to iOS.
People may complain about buying songs but they are forgetting something. On the console version yes you did have a whole library of songs already there to play. There were also extra songs available to buy from the e-shop. The song packs in the iOS version include the extra songs you had to pay for on the 3DS. Plus there used to be loads of songs I hated playing but had to in order to progress. Now I don't have to, I can just play the songs I want to play. So when you think about it, in terms of value, it's actually very reasonable.
For me there is one BIG problem with this version- it has no game centre functionality. The biggest and most fun part of this game is going for high scores. With a leader-board in place the playability would increase immensely. Not to mention having achievements to work towards aswell. For that reason and that reason alone, I did not rate it 5 stars.
The profile card could be better, in the DS version you could choose all different designs.
All in all it's a great little game, weather you're a Final Fantasy fan or not.
PS - it NEEDS a game centre update!!!
A really enjoyable game. I'm a huge fan of Final Fantasy music and this is a great excuse to listen to it! Try the 2 free songs you get ( One-Winged Angel and To Zanarkand) and if you like it, it's worth it to buy some more songs you like. If you don't, don't buy any more songs and you haven't lost out on anything.
My only criticism is that in my opinion it's slightly expensive. You can buy one music bundle (4 songs) from each instalment in the series for £2 each and after that you have to buy individual songs for 0.69p each. So it can work out fairly pricey if you want to play most of the songs.
