Find it handy when booking trips however not helpful when there's an error
I use the app almost every week to go and see my boyfriend and it offers me cheaper tickets if in advance etc and saves time. However, when my trains (that were booked and paid for) were cancelled I was not notified on the app itself or by email etc . I had to find out off the news!! This disappointed me as it has my email and the app could have easily said that the trains were cancelled due to an incident but their failure to do so completely messed up my schedule for that entire week!
Despite this one incident, I have never had an issue. If you need help though do not call them as they do not answer for around 10 minutes and charge you a BOMB!! Use the online chat and they'll assist you there! Hope this helps x
Does what it says on the tin... and does it really well!...
I consistently use this app on a regular basis, both for local and national travel. Always efficient, effective and convenient. I find it the best of the bunch for train tickets, and far superior to the operator managed apps. Occasionally you may pay a quid or so more... but this is more than made up by the convenience of ease of collection of printed tickets and especially by the mobile ticket feature. Great work.. keep it up Trainline!
E-tickets in apple wallet
It's definitely the best transport app out there. Really easy to buy tickets through Apple Pay.
If only you could also have e-tickets in apple wallet it would have been amazing! Being such a frequent train ticket buyer, I can't stand anymore wasting paper and putting the booking reference into those machines. Make this functionality for the best user experience!
Another downside is the 0.25£ fee. Also, I noticed that I never use the first tap on the left.
