It’s been shown that if you write down three good things that happen to you everyday, your happiness and positivity increase. Three Good Things, a happiness journal, enables you to do exactly that with a simple user-interface and gamification to encourage engagement.

In the world today, society tends to focus on the negative. Rather than remembering all of the good things in their lives, people often focus on the things which they don’t like. With Three Good Things, you can rewire your brain to focus on the positive by writing down good things that happen to you everyday. By finding positive things that happen in your daily life, you train your mind to notice the good things in life instead of allowing it to focus on the negative.

As Harvard Professor Shawn Achor explains in his book The Happiness Advantage, "this exercise has staying power.... the items you write down each day don't need to be profound or complicated, only specific. You can mention the delicious take-out Thai food you had for dinner, your child's bear hug at the end of a long day, or the well-deserved acknowledgement from your boss at work."

Being positive

I don’t normally review apps but this one deserves a positive review. I have had quite a lot of stress lately so I downloaded this app as I had read that writing down three positives a day is good for you. I have been finding even if it’s not the best of days I still manage to find positives and sometimes I don’t even have enough space to put the positives because I find more than three. Has this app made me more positive? I’d say it has.

Thank you for creating an app that reflects the spirit of a gratitude diary - that is to simply notice and document three things for which one is grateful . Many other apps for gratitude diaries are full of options to add photos and change colours and this is a distraction from simply being and noticing what one is thankful for . So thank you very much. Maybe I will add this app as one of my three small things tomorrow !!

Helps to celebrate the small things

I enjoy the challenge of finding three positives on the toughest of days but there is always something to be grateful for. I have been using this app for a few weeks and enjoy looking back at small happy moments I’d otherwise have forgotten. I’d like the option to be able to print off a year’s worth, or even a month in one go.
