Where to begin

The app works for me and with a few presses of the screen gives me some basic information about my account. My problem with this app is that it's slow and the user experience is less than good. Tech at Three, like at so many other companies in the UK ends up being am afterthought, where as it should be an integral part of a product ( disclaimer: I don't work for Three, but I've been in this industry for a long time and this app makes a glaringly obvious statement ). It's sad that a company with a message I can really get behind ( #makeitright ) neglects it's mobile and web channels to this extent. But then, perhaps we pay them so much money that they rather hire people in call centres instead of letting customers deal with their accounts on their own using a decent app. Seeing how they've been doing so well in recent years they're probably busy expanding rather than optimising, but there will come a time when they will have to #makeitright.

Next to useless

I swtched to Three a few months ago from O2, and my first impression of their app, compared to that of my previous carrier, was not good indeed. Having now used it for some time, I can safely say that it is nothing short of appalling. It is so clunky to use, is full of unnecessary interactions, the journeys are not logical or simple... It is quite a disaster, and doesn't entice me to use it. The problem is that the Three website is equally as next to useless as the app (I guess there's consistency there, at least).

I have just tried to check my spending on the app, was asked to turn WIFI off (I was already on the 3G network), and it continued to do so even after WIFI was turned off. Three should seriously thinking of overhauling their web presence and make it fit for purpose.

Please make it work over wi-fi!!!!!!!

The only point of this app for me is to check my PAYG balance from time to time, but - as many others have pointed out - it won’t do so if you happen to be connected to wifi at the time. Instead it launches the Three website in safari, and that doesn’t seem to be able to remember the password and entering it (even if I could remember it) into the website is a P in the A.

Why is this??? I gather it’s because the somehow use the fact that you’ve connected via 3G/4G to prove your identity, so if you’re connected via wifi they don’t have this. But I have plenty of apps that access online services without having any further authentication needed, so why are Three so difficult about it? If they must insist on identification why not support fingerprint ID on the iPhone?

Before I switched to Three I was with GiffGaff for a while and their app gives you much better account and balance information with no worries about whether you’re connected via wifi or 3G.

Please fix this, Three - it’s letting down an otherwise excellent service.
