Version 2.23.0

Access up to five businesses on the same Tide app, and switch between them with ease. We’ve designed this with the serial entrepreneur in mind - letting you manage multiple businesses on the go.

When setting up a new business account, enter a unique email address at the beginning of the registration flow. If you want to link an existing Tide account to your phone, simply enter the email address linked to that business and follow a few easy steps.

Now onto your second, third, fourth business idea...!

Slow at receiving payments

Not fit for purpose. Current Accounts for the most of us are to get paid primarily and secondary to pay other people. The first one, receiving payments, it does very poorly and unreliably. I have been sent payments with proof on two separate occasions and not recieved the funds in my account in a reliable or prompt fashion. One was a faster payment and it took over 8 hours to credit my account. The second payment is a same day CHAPS payment which has so far taken 2 working days to appear in my account. If you rely on getting paid for cash flow do not open an account with Tide or any third party that is not an actual bank. The app and marketing look great and sound great but in reality it doesn’t work in the real world.

To add to that as you would imagine when you are wondering where your payments are, you want to get in touch with someone as it’s frustrating. There is nobody to call and you can only send them a message and wait for a response which after 4:30pm means waiting until the following day, in the digital age not having 24 hour support is just unacceptable especially when the platform has lots of flaws.

Payment processing times will depend on their method, Faster Payments are processed every 30 minutes and cleared within 2 hours. BACS take 3 working days, and CHAPS on the same working day if the payment batch is received before 3pm.

Our Member Support team is dedicated to assist, 8am - 8pm Monday to Friday, and 9am - 6pm over the weekend, if you ever need a call just let our team know in the app.

We can’t discuss sensitive details about your account here, but our Member Support team has been in touch to clarify details about the payments you were expecting. If there’s anything else you need, or if you’d like another call, just let us know.

Not a great service, poor quality and absolute lies in what they’re offering.

You’re unable to pay in cash via Pot Office or PayPoint or pay in cheques anywhere - big flaw for me. Also if you dare to go limited, you’re forced to close your account and cancel ALL payments etc. (You can only have 2 accounts as a sole trader.) I uploaded a photo and post onto twitter, and they emailed me completely ignoring the point, but chastising me for uploading account details. Additionally they state “decision within minutes” relating to the overdraft. They took many, many weeks to decide they wouldn’t approve me, without years of accounts (which as a sole trader, isn’t easy or possible) so my application was put on hold, which it has been for months. The card design also hasn’t been updated on my accounts, and no info on how I can upgrade. All in all, unimpressed with this pseudo-bank and it’s purely digital offering, you’re best off with a free account with Barclays Business Banking. Open an account with them within minutes and you’re set, no drama, no fuss, perfect app and also physical branches and telephone support 24/7. Something Tide (also an American soap brand) will never, ever offer.

You’ll be happy to hear cash deposits are coming in the near future! Tide puts security first and posting sensitive account details on social media platforms is a severe security risk and is also against our terms and conditions.
We run checks on all credit applications and usually complete them within minutes, in some cases however, the team has to take some extra steps and needs a little more information from applicants, delays in receiving requested information can unfortunately increase the waiting time.

If you would like a card with the new design, just cancel and re-order a new card in the app by tapping the card icon on your ‘Accounts’ page. Please note that you won’t have a working card for 3-5 days while the new one is on the way.

Account Frozen Randomly No International Transfer Facility

It was working ok for our business until they decided to Pause our account to do checks??!! They could clearly see the source of the funds was PayPal which we generate through eBay sales. Our account has been frozen for over a week now with funds stuck and no access to anything incredible!! I have already gone to NatWest to open a Business account with a major high street bank. Tide does not have any customer service telephone number and they reply to enquiries after number of days!! Very bad service very poor experience our business has suffered and we will definitely pause our dealings with them permanently!!! My advice to the reader is be prepared to have your funds frozen at any time no phone support and no reasons to action what they do. Open a business account with a major bank so if there is any problems it can be resolved fast and swiftly. You pay for what you get and Tide is a small useless solution who thinks it’s ok to Pause your business account when they feel like and not think of the repercussion to the business.

Our Help team should have reached out on a private channel to discuss the status of your account.

We are really sorry for the lack of communication and the inconvenience this situation may have caused. We can't completely avoid having to suspend accounts in some cases while we request further information but this is rare. While this may seem worrying, this procedure is however in line with payment industry regulations and our terms and conditions. Tide will never unlawfully block or close a Member’s account.
