Not a great service, poor quality and absolute lies in what they’re offering.
You’re unable to pay in cash via Pot Office or PayPoint or pay in cheques anywhere - big flaw for me. Also if you dare to go limited, you’re forced to close your account and cancel ALL payments etc. (You can only have 2 accounts as a sole trader.) I uploaded a photo and post onto twitter, and they emailed me completely ignoring the point, but chastising me for uploading account details. Additionally they state “decision within minutes” relating to the overdraft. They took many, many weeks to decide they wouldn’t approve me, without years of accounts (which as a sole trader, isn’t easy or possible) so my application was put on hold, which it has been for months. The card design also hasn’t been updated on my accounts, and no info on how I can upgrade. All in all, unimpressed with this pseudo-bank and it’s purely digital offering, you’re best off with a free account with Barclays Business Banking. Open an account with them within minutes and you’re set, no drama, no fuss, perfect app and also physical branches and telephone support 24/7. Something Tide (also an American soap brand) will never, ever offer.

We run checks on all credit applications and usually complete them within minutes, in some cases however, the team has to take some extra steps and needs a little more information from applicants, delays in receiving requested information can unfortunately increase the waiting time.
If you would like a card with the new design, just cancel and re-order a new card in the app by tapping the card icon on your ‘Accounts’ page. Please note that you won’t have a working card for 3-5 days while the new one is on the way.

Account Frozen Randomly No International Transfer Facility
It was working ok for our business until they decided to Pause our account to do checks??!! They could clearly see the source of the funds was PayPal which we generate through eBay sales. Our account has been frozen for over a week now with funds stuck and no access to anything incredible!! I have already gone to NatWest to open a Business account with a major high street bank. Tide does not have any customer service telephone number and they reply to enquiries after number of days!! Very bad service very poor experience our business has suffered and we will definitely pause our dealings with them permanently!!! My advice to the reader is be prepared to have your funds frozen at any time no phone support and no reasons to action what they do. Open a business account with a major bank so if there is any problems it can be resolved fast and swiftly. You pay for what you get and Tide is a small useless solution who thinks it’s ok to Pause your business account when they feel like and not think of the repercussion to the business.

A genius tech creation for business banking
It has always been a very painful process setting business accounts and I never understood why it always had to take so long. Countless form filling, waiting for codes to appear in the post, signing forms to send back. The laborious process took and still takes many weeks with many of the high street banks. I was weeks into the same process recently then I read about Tide, which had great reviews. I stopped the current application, and started the set up with Tide via the app. It literally took 5 minutes to set up. Transferring money was simple, the app has great tools including invoicing templates already set up, it's easy, there are no account fees and it is incredibly user friendly. It's brilliant. Why isn't this the norm?
