Trainline for Business 4+

This is a very easy way to book trains in Europe. Simple and quick. I travel regularly and like to do it in comfort. You can see your seats before paying. VERY important. I have used other companies, but this is the best.

Well I suppose now is perhaps not the best time to be writing a review as it’s taken me nearly 23 hours to actually book the train tickets I want via Trainline website/app. For reasons yet undiscovered neither the website nor the App would allow me to complete the booking process for tickets from Paris CDG Airport to Disneyland Paris despite having done this on three occasions before. Despite doing as requested by the very patient ‘Bert’ of customer services, changing browsers (x3) trying different devices (x4) all to no avail. Finally advised to change the App from the green one to the white European one, which makes sense if you’d been aware there were two different apps. As always the most frustrating part is the lack of human contact. No one to take reservations over the phone when online difficulties arise. No phone number for customer services for European tickets, everything has to be done by email. Now I have discovered it’s not even e-tickets I can print off at home or download to my phone, I am going to have to find a ticket machine in France to dispense the tickets when I arrive, something you aren’t made aware of until you have completed and paid for your order. All in all a very frustrating experience.

90% of the searches I tried failed. It doesn’t account for UK stations even though they are available in the search. You cannot choose them. However you can be completely vague and choose “London”!

Doesn’t seem to have a very comprehensive list of European stations. For example I could buy tickets for Milan but not for Rome or Venice. I was just exploring trying to find fun destinations to reach by train but there are so many failed searches that I gave up. It doesn’t tell you why the search failed and in the help there are so many excuses of why a search might fail that you think “what’s the point?”. Also for some of the routes (e.g. London to Milan) it forces you to do the London to Paris leg via coach. What’s that all about? Why can’t do take the Eurostar as part of it?

Think it would be easier to buy tickets on the web rather than through this app.
