Flexible gameplay, good sound

Rendering takes a while but that’s probably more my laptop than the game. Other than that I like the easy way of moving from one view to another, and how the sound follows you. Makes me want to upgrade my hardware to gain the full benefit - I’ll be playing this for a while...

HF3

With the arrival of SP2 my application is not performing well. I have difficulty in exiting the game and saving work. I also notice that driver commands in portals are saved in sessions and not directly to the route I am creating. I have long hoped for a folder, sitting alongside edit session rules that allows the storage of driver commands relevant to the route being created. These commands could then be allocated to any driver and consist placed on the relevant section of track. Clean and simple without all the complexity of sessions. The change to saving portal seems to be a retrograde move. The change to the save system ,especially with relation to portals, seems to cause problems. However edits to the main route do seem to be successfully saved to all sessions without losing driver commands in portals. I have downgraded my rating of TANE and look forward to solutions to my problems and improvements in the future.

Great Trains

I have been playing this on a PC for several years but recently decided to migrate to a Mac. The Mac version is proving much better in look and feel - no doubt having a more uptodate and powerful computer is key. I have to start many of my own projects again, but I have learnt a lot over the years, so I don’t really mind leaving my mistakes behind. I think this is a really brilliant game - especially if you like creating your own railway. It is easy to get results quickly, but there is years of learning to follow and a lot to explore. Someone once remarked about Trainz that it is not so much a game as a hobby. I completely agree.
