Fabulous place with excellent customer service
Cannot recommend this place enough, I was lucky enough to be staying in St Ives for a week with 5 friends to celebrate 1 of the groups big birthday when we found this place, 1st visit was meant to be for coffee but after a friendly and welcoming reception by Jo and being sat outside on a sunny November afternoon a bottle of wine seemed a much better option, had amazing sea views and we were rewarded by seeing dolphins and seals. When it got bit chilly outside the heaters came on making it cosy, so cosy another bottle of wine was ordered!
We had breakfast twice, service excellent and friendly each time from Jo who goes from table to table ensuring everything is ok food and drinks wise as well as being a great seal spotter! good choices for breakfast especially as 1 of our group is vegetarian, both breakfast visits we saw the seals, absolutely amazing as they were so close to the shoreline , in fact we were convinced Jo had a switch to make them appear on demand!
We also visited for dinner 1 evening, again great choices and all enjoyed our food, the evening staff were also both very friendly and welcoming and attentive
Worth mentioning that a warm reception is also given to dogs, they not allowed inside but they have plenty of space outside.
What’s great also is this place is open all year round so check their website for opening hours .
Nice rooms, rough area, poor parking, infact really poor, first come first served and not many places, they share the car park with a mosque, when they are praying they block the car park off completely as it’s Owned by the mosque (fair play) if u are here on work in a van then it’s a case of luck as u may not be able to park, found 80% off the staff miserable, especially the breakfast staff, found the evening meal staff really friendly couldn’t fault them, front of house was 50/50, just want to say again the waitrers at evening was the best and no complaints at all. Again very poor parking for £10 per night. Won’t stay again only because of the parking, after working all day finding not be able to park my van is another stress, I had to wait for 45 mins one night for someone to leave the car park so I could pinch there space!! Not good as I just wanted to go home to my room and relax!! Travel lodge nxt door has lots of parking. Will go there if I ever have the misfortune To go back to Hounslow again. P.s the chips what I was served smelled disgusting, change your oil.
Spoilt our evening for lack of customer service
We are visiting New York and were recommended to dine at bistro Milano @ 1350 Avenue of America’s don’t get me wrong the food was good and waiting staff could not have been more attentive BUT the reservations hostess needs to refine her attitude to guests. Although we had a confirmation email for our booking, she could not find it, the restaurant although busy was not packed to the gunnels, she did eventually lead us to a table, whilst waiting for our food we where offered bread and dipping oils, very nice, on the arrival of our main meal the waiter moved our bread basket to an adjacent table. The table was then required for guests and the hostess made it very plain that OUR bread basket was in the way and giving us an icy stare removed it - surely this is not the way to treat paying customers. Perhaps there will not be a repeat of such poor customer relations as we took the opportunity to speak to the manager, who did apologise.
