Sometimes, browsing through endless lists of programmes and TV channels gets frustrating. You just want to know what’s on TV and you want to know NOW!, the UK’s number one TV Guide website, brings you a smart and sexy application that allows you to see what’s on TV in a grid, at one glance. Check out programmes for all channels on Freeview, Sky, Virgin Media, Freesat or TalkTalk. Not only that, comes with its own special features.

All programmes have their own unique rating, as voted for by users.

Internet connection is not required once loaded. As soon as the TV data has loaded, you can use the app offline. So no worries if you are on the tube or train home from work — you can still browse the listings, take your time!

Episode names and numbers, as well as series numbers are included where relevant.

Subtitled, signed, audio-described and interactive programmes are indicated.

You can customise listings to your local region and select what TV platform you want to see listings for, narrowing it down from over 400 channels.

You can also sort your selected channels in any order you like, simply by clicking and dragging each one to where you want — found in settings.

Facebook login

This is a useful app although as time goes on and the developers make changes it has got more and more sluggish.
I find the advert that pops up every time I start the app annoying but the the developers have to eat. But as they are mostly childish games I doubt there are many intentional clickthrough's.
What I really do object to is the offer to sign in with Facebook. Why would I want to do that. I'm not in the least bit interested in what my so called friends on there are watching, and I certainly don't want to tell Facebook about my viewing habits. Far too many websites have this Facebook connection already. And that pop up is often difficult to get passed if you don't sign in.
3 stars, it does what it says but I think it's time to look for an alternative.

Not quite as good

Then new version is more complicated than the last one, far less static making navigation somewhat tricky. It recently began listing several lines of the same channel, sometimes as many as five identical entries. Had to uninstall and re-install to make the thing work better but notice it is still doing the same but not quite as bad. Pity as it is otherwise clear and concise and from others I've seen the best of its kind.

Not worth using

This used to be the app I used for planning my evening viewing. The extra information available about a program via, for example, Twitter or Wikipedia was fantastic as were the details on main cast members. However the latest upgrade has broken the app completely. Listings of all the channels is no longer available. On my ipad I just get a banner where I can watch some random program and listings for three random channels. That's it. Maybe the developers should have left a great app alone. They should also test apps before release.
