TvhClient

Open iTunes to buy and download apps.

Description

TvhClient is an open source app that will enable your iPhone or iPad to easily perform your TVHeadend common daily tasks and allow you to watch your channels on your device (experimental).

** For support (or crashes!) contact me at tvhclient@gmail.com, @zipleen on twitter, github or irc.freenode.

TvhClient allows you to remotely control the TVHeadend server - a DVB receiver, DVR and streaming server.

The app relies on real-time data it retrieves from the TVHeadend server allowing you to accomplish several tasks, including:
* view the channel's streaming video in-app or launch a third party video application,
* video play (experimental) transcoded stream,
* list channels,
* view channel's EPGs,
* search by program title,
* start or schedule recordings (DVR),
* check alternative times for any show scheduled,
* view the log / status of the server.

Supported Tvheadend versions: 3.2 and up.
Transcoding is not yet supported in latest tvheadend 4.x versions.

The app supports sending video stream url directly to: VLC, Oplayer, Buzz Player, GoodPlayer, Ace Player, nPlayer and remotely to Kodi (TvhClient does not support passwords in webinterface!) or Chromecast (only with transcoding). If you know other apps that work well with TVHeadend and want them added, contact me via e-mail.

Streaming live TV to the iPhone easily

What a great piece of software that "just works". It's even more stable than using my Mac and VLC. Looks like I'll be buying an Apple TV just for this...

Update - July '17:
I bought an Apple TV for this. Paid for the app too. Absolutely great on TVH 4.2.2. Issues with scalability with 400+ channels (scrolling channel list, guide not loading), but otherwise great.

Tip:
If you build channel icons, 308x182 is optimal.

Best TVH app

Best app on the store and free must have for all TVH users

EDIT:

I'm now using this app on the Apple TV 4 three things im missing are an overlay guide like in Kodi if you open the guide view the playback will stop

2. Time shift is not available unfortunately

3. Opening the channel seems a little slow but I'm still trying to figure out why switching to ip instead of host name already improved this

Compatibility with tvheadend v4.2?

Doesn't seem to be compatible with the epg from tvheadend v4.2? Most program titles come through as "null".
