UK Salary Calculator provides a simple numerical and graphical breakdown of your income. It is intended for use by residents (or prospective residents) of the United Kingdom.
Yearly, monthly, 4-weekly and weekly breakdown of income tax (20%, 40% & 45%), national insurance contributions, pension contributions, student loan, employer's national insurance contributions, gross salary and net salary.
It calculates your default tax allowance based on your age & income, and has facilities for adding additional income, bonuses, additional allowances, customising student loan thresholds, adding salary sacrifices, childcare vouchers, contracted-out pension, custom tax codes & deductions. It automatically reduces your personal allowance if you earn above an income threshold for your age bracket, or £100k.
It is useful for employee's and employer's alike; whether you are looking to check your pay packet to ensure it's right, or to see what your earnings should/could be. It is also useful to see what your take home earnings will be in the next financial year or in another job. All calculations are based on data provided by HMRC and the Student Loan Company.
Salary, salary sacrifices, allowances, and deductions can be input on a £'s/Year, £'s/Month, £'s/4-Week or £'s/Week basis. Pension can be added as a percentage or an amount.
One-click copy to clipboard function for individual calculated values, or you can share results via the email export option.

What's New in Version 3.0
- Added support for 2015/16 tax year
Great App - well supported
I’ve been using this app for quite some time and have always found it stable and effective - it does what it says on the tin !! As time has gone on the developer has refined and added features in response to customer feedback. I wrote to the developer last night to suggest a feature and got a response back waiting in my inbox for me this morning. If you need to know how much you should be paying in tax and national insurance and what your bottom line take home should be you can’t fault this programme and for 79p its a steal.
Nice app - shame about the logo.
Why is there a picture of Stan Laurel without his hat on being used as a logo?
Ok yes, i know its not the skinny one from Laurel and Hardy - just a really bad picture of George Osborne the current Chancellor of the Exchequer.
Guys - get someone to design a decent logo for you -it's the worse thing about this actually quite useful little financial app.
I’m giving it three stars - would have got five if i didn’t have to look at Osbornes mug everytime i go to click on the icon.
simple - clear - complete - responsive developer
I can’t pick holes in this one. It does what it says it does, it does it clearly, and on the single occasion I’ve queried the developer on an issue, the developer's responded personally within a few hours, resolving the query. Nice bit of programming. Thank you Rhys.
