Get real time UK traffic updates from the only traffic app to provide instant push notifications the moment traffic develops.
Twitraffic uses the Twitter firehose to see traffic created in real-time, ensuring you're constantly in the know when it comes to planning your journey.
• What makes this different from other traffic apps? •
As it's often real people who are first to spot traffic developing, Twitter can be the first data source for disgruntled drivers and their passengers, who are first on the scene before official agencies or the police. Taking data from real individuals means you're the first to know of any traffic developing along major UK roads.
• Fully featured UK traffic app •
Twitraffic combines the best features of other traffic apps available by providing:
◦ Journey planner with route directions and traffic alerts.
◦ A simple traffic summary detailing current traffic.
◦ Lookup any recent tweets on a road of interest.
◦ A map detailing current traffic.
◦ Push notifications for roads you subscribe to. This ensures you're alerted to traffic the moment it develops.
• How does it work? •
Twitraffic extensively mines Twitter for tweets relating to UK road traffic, using a powerful algorithm to judge severity of an incident or set of roadworks.
Maybe you're thinking, "That doesn't sound very accurate?" You would be surprised! The algorithm learns what's junk and often compares its results against the UK Highways Agency to ensure the data you see is valid and reliable.
What's New in Version 3.0.0
Welcome to the next major milestone of Twitraffic: version 3.0.
So what has changed? Well we've been acquired! Twitraffic is now part of Telent, a company that specialises in UK road traffic software. Part of this acquisition has seen a great deal of time spent developing new features.
1.) New UI: With an iOS update just around the corner Twitraffic has adopted a new flat feel to fit in with the upcoming changes to iOS. We've also gone green (literally), Twitraffic no longer uses a blue colour swatch.
2.) Journey planner: Many of you have requested this, so here it finally is. You can now plan journeys - view directions, current traffic and subscribe to alerts along a specific route. Adding a journey couldn't be simpler with the interactive map tool implemented into the app.
3.) Report traffic from within the app: Users can now report traffic without opening Twitter using the new reporting feature.
4.) Several bug fixes and many optimisations: Time has allowed us to go through Twitraffic with a fine tooth comb and address all the little gripes and issues users reported.
Slowed down to non responsive
Major flaw. The A102 in London hasn't got it's own listing even though it is a major road with many issues. It links the A12 to the A2... Yes the Blackwall Tunnel road you can never plan your road trip and act as if you are going to be stuck there for hours!
Shocking, waste of money 0*
Absolutely shocking, if I could give 0 stars I would of. So so so slow, didn't give any traffic alerts even when sat in traffic. Says no traffic on route you can clearly see traffic. Waste of money
Not a good app
After paying for this app and hoping for the best am still waiting for something to appear other than the title page. Disappointed.
