The blockbuster hit racing game featured in the App Store's New and Noteworthy, What's Hot, What We're Playing, and Made for iOS 4 categories.
Pilot your racer at breakneck speeds while avoiding oncoming obstacles in this highly addictive retro-styled 3D racing game. Featuring a heartrate accelerating drum & bass soundtrack, rumble effects (iPhone only), Game Center leaderboard & achievements, and high resolution graphics for Retina displays.
Additional game modes are coming soon - your positive reviews of Vector Runner will keep the updates coming faster. Thanks for all the support!
What's New in Version 1.3
- Now with Game Center leaderboard and achievements!
- New camera shake effects
- Graphical improvements
- Fading pause icon
- Fixed Facebook functionality
- Fixed app overriding music on multitasking devices
- New icon
- Other minor bug fixes
PLEASE NOTE: If you have a Game Center enabled device, this update will replace the old leaderboard system with a Game Center leaderboard. We know a lot of you like the current highscores leaderboard, but we need to switch to Game Center in order to be able to support more users and additional game modes (which are coming soon!)
If you have a highscore you're proud of, take a screenshot of it before you update!
80's retro cool
Well, this takes me back. It's a brilliant vector-based 'tower avoidance' game -- having played games for as long as I have, I'm immediately reminded of the old "star wars" arcade game, without the shooting (either that or deathchase 3D on the old ZX Spectrum... but towers replacing trees, and again - no shooting).
Incredibly addictive, it starts off at a brisk pace and quickly gets faster; but not impossibly so -- even as your shield fades away and the ominous "game over" falls, you have to play one more game -- one more, and best that previous score/distance.
Plus, for those that like achievements, it has a stack of them -- some of them easily achievable, some of them... a little more challenging.
All in all, it is brilliant retro-styled fun -- and something different from the countless other games with "run" in their title. Well worth a play -- good reflexes are essential though.
Good game with good graphics and gameplay. It's really cool when you get invincibility and the screen starts shaking and everything turns White. It's such a good, free game and its awesome with daft punk playing on my iPod.
Three suggestions to the game developers:
1) Change the name to Vectroidz. It sounds better.
2) Have a Daft Punk soundtrack for the game.
3) Change the icon to something more interesting.
(BTW, you don't have to listen to me, but I think it would improve the game a lot :D)
Lack of Control
There are four major problems with this app. It goes too fast too quickly, when you get the green or white cubes that give you points, there should be some that give you more lives, and the accelerometer should be how it's controlled. Tapping the screen is too slow and too unresponsive. You should be able to tilt the device for left or right like on most games like this.
Highly addictive but the biggest problem is that it just shouldn't be paid. Make it free forever.
