Ratings and Reviews
Mixed bag
I've a love / hate relationship with the apps, which is in desperate need of an update.
It has a fairly clunky interface and an annoying habit of going full screen and black screening my secondary monitor if I click in the wrong place -- and the only way to recover is to shut the app down.
When you've finished with a project it's a faff to delete all edits in your timeline and remove the file being edited. A wholly unnecessary, poor design.
BUT it does do what I want, very easily: crop editing scenes from a recording and the process to export is fairly straightforward.
On my highest end Intel mac this runs slowly but acceptably. E.g. a 45 minute MP4 file takes around 25 minutes to export.
HOWEVER ... you'd have thought that this would be ready by now for M1 and M2 Macs, but no. The same 45-minute MP4 took 25 minutes to render 33% of the same video file. According to iStat Menus it only utilises 4 of the CPU cores.
In summary: If you want a simple editor with quirks and you have an Intel Mac, I'd consider it (try the demo version), but if you have the latest Mac mini M2 Pro ... forget it.
latest update gets no stars
The pro version has been working perfectly since April but the last update has introduced various bugs with whole sections of video disappearing, the back arrow fails to work and the programme cut out half way through exporting.

A complete waste of money
I bought the Pro version as I needed to make a video longer than five minutes (limit of the free app). However, I have wasted hours waiting for this app to do what it’s supposed to, then it froze and I lost everything that I had been working on - twice. Followed tutorial advice without any improvement. Eventually it just blanked my iMac screen, again this happened a couple of times and I had to close down and start everything again. I need something reliable and useable - this isn’t it.
