Vinyl is the perfect app for record collectors, the following features should convince you of that fact.
This is where you store all the records you currently own. From the search tab use the artist, album title or catalog number to find records. Tap into a record and use the plus button in the top right to add them to your collection.
This is where you keep track of all the records you want to buy. Next time you're in a record store pop open this tab and make sure you don't forget anything. You can even look at your friends' wantlists and pickup any records they might want. When you do finally buy a record on your wantlist, tap into the record and use the record icon in the top right to transfer it to your collection.
This is where you stay up to date with all the records that your friends buy. Search for your friends by username and then tap the plus button to add them to your feed. Their little icon is the album cover for last record they added to their collection.
Protips - Tags and Shuffle:
The struggle to pick which record to listen to is real ... but Vinyl is here to help! Use tags to group your records and the shuffle button to take care of the struggle. You can have a 'Morning Approved' tag to easily find a record that goes great with cup of chemex-brewed coffee, a 'Chill' tag to find a record to accompany that vape-life, or a 'Housequake' tag to find a record when it's time to party.
*New Feature: Notes
-Every record has a story. For example, I found the Prince Batman soundtrack at Monster Melodies in Paris. Previously, those stories were subject to the human memory. Now you can add digital notes with the brand new notes feature. Tap the three dots on the top right of the record view, scroll to the bottom, and type away.
-A bunch of tiny bugs have been fixed. If you're still experiencing issues, please use the contact support button on the settings page.

Room for improvement
Initially I thought this app was great however as I've used it more I've become a tad frustrated. The database is great, especially when you can enter a catalogue number instead of the record details, it's much quicker.
My only complaint is that firstly I don't seem to be able to search my own records once they are on the system, I can list them but I want to be able to search all the fields so that when I'm out buying records I can avoid buying duplicates. Secondly I've entered a few albums into the database, which it recognised straight away and it had all the songs on the album listed but once I accepted this and added the album to my collection it now does not list the songs on the album. This has happened for every album I've put on so far. Lastly, there doesn't appear to be any support available, if there was maybe they'd be able to tell me what I'm doing wrong to have caused all these issues I have!!
I wish I'd had this years ago! Ive about 2000 vinyl albums and you can catalogue them fairly quickly by artist with all the artwork etc. I'm always buying duplicate albums (mostly obscure jazz) at record fares of albums I already own and this will help tame my buying !!
There are some valid comments from the other reviewers (I'd personally like to add a field where you could put some personal notes against the album and possible the ability to sort by genre but if you want something that does the job beautifully and is free this is it - it does exactly what it says on the tin! Well done Noah - now what about a pro version? many thanks
Don't make a mistake
I downloaded this app and initially thought it was perfect, sadly not. I initially saved the wrong version of some of my rarer stuff. I decided to spend more time and research the correct release of them. I deleted what I had saved and then saved the correct version. They look ok in the index but as soon as you click on them it reverts to your first save and the correct info is not available. I have tried deleting everything, uninstalling the app and then starting again with the correct info. Sadly it will only remember your first save which is entirely useless. My point? If you get it wrong first time, there is no going back
