With our brand new website (available now at https://beta.virgintrainseastcoast.com) we're making it quicker and easier than ever to find our best fares, and with the new site comes our new app, so mobile tickets are back!
Our new Virgin Trains East Coast app replaces our old Ticket Wallet app. You can expect a simpler, snappier and altogether more Virgin Trains experience.
Sign in to the app with your new Virgin Trains East Coast account login details (yes, we're afraid that does mean re-registering), and any mobile tickets you buy on www.virgintrainseastcoast.com will be automatically downloaded to your chosen device.
You can jump straight from the app to our brand new and responsive booking website to book train tickets quickly and easily. You also have a handy link to My Account to view your bookings and move tickets from one device to another if you have that dreaded low-battery nightmare!
From within the app you can also access:
- Live travel updates
- Live departures and arrivals information
- A journey planner
- A seat availability checker
We'd love to hear what you think! You can use the Feedback function within the app to send us your thoughts, report any bugs you might experience or maybe tell us what you'd like to see developed in the app next.
Virgin Trains West Coast customer? Unfortunately you can't use your West Coast log in details on our East Coast app yet, but we're working on it.

Like going back in time!
The previous VTEC app was fairly straight forward and easy to use. This one is horrendous - agree with every word on these reviews. Like going back in time to early days of internet shopping on mobile apps! I have not even used the mobile ticketing feature, but beware, VTEC now also ask you to re-register your details - in full no less - even if you've had an account. This goes for their website to! It seems like they've ignored all the impressive enhancements in technology in recent years, and the UX interface is dreadful. VTEC - you must sort this out!
Oh no! I've tried it. What was I thinking? Everything Branson does turns to gold, for him. For his customers it turns to something brown and softer. This app is much worse than the last one. I recommend you don't even try it as it will ask you to re-register, change password (a process that doesn't work) and you will be left annoyed and frustrated. A bit like travelling with Virgin. Bring back East Coast Trains I say.
The app itself looks nice on the small iPhone 4S screen unfortunately the app it just a launcher for the website and the website does not work well at all on the smallest screen iPhone. Why not have a native app for ticket purchase? Let's not rely on opening up websites for all functionality.
