Our brainy types are working on new features all the time to make your travel experience with us easier than ever before. But if you’ve got that million-dollar idea, that missing nugget of genius that we haven’t included in our app, then tell us! Found a hitch or a glitch in our app, then let us know. We’re open to suggestions and we want to hear what’d make it better for you. So please get in touch at App@virgintrains.co.uk

Various minor bug fixes and optimisations
No Seat reservation
I used this app for the first time to book a Friday night Euston-Stoke on Trent ticket. I like the paperless ticket. However, even though i selected it, I did not get seat reservation options like you get when you book online, like quiet coach, table seat or preference on direction facing, or avoid those restricted window seats that make you feel claustrophobic. In fact I did not get a reservation at all. Being pregnant, on a busy Friday night train journey, I was concerned about this. I called the help line and the guy was unhelpful, and totally unsympathetic. Train journeys are pretty expensive, and so to be able to get a seat when you try to book one is, you would think, the least you should get for your £68. The only grace is that luckily I did manage to find a seat in the unreserved coach. But I was worrying all day before I travelled about standing up on a busy train for the 90minutes journey.
Not quite as intuitive as it could be
I downloaded this app hoping to be able to do away with paper tickets. Unfortunately after booking the journey I was told I had no option other than collect from s ticket machine. When it asked me if I wanted reserved seats, I ticked I did and instead of being asked if I wanted forward facing, table, socket and bring given a chance to select my seat I was given nothing apart from "we will reserve one if we can". Not good enough and the website gives you far more flexibility so not a fan of the app. Will not be using this again until it has same or more functionality as website.
Use the app to search for tickets but book them on the web if you want a seat
The App overall is good however if like me your journey time is 2hrs plus not being able to reserve or request a table, window, forwarding facing etc becomes annoying and for that reason i only use this app to check times and prices but use the web version to actually book tickets so i can chose where I'm sitting. If I've ever booked a ticket with this app i always end up facing the other way in a restricted view seat. Surly this should be easy to sort virgin we pay enough for the ticket.
