This used to be a 5-star review, but I'm downgrading it now.
This app is absolutely fine for searching for train times, but when I tried to book a journey, it let me down massively. It took my money, it gave me a ticket I wanted, but it completely messed up with the seat! I selected my preferences - quiet coach, table, forward facing - and it gave me a completely random seat somewhere in the middle of the train. Worst of all, the app won't show your seat until after you'd paid for it. I was booking 2 months in advance, for a 4AM train, I don't believe there were no seats left in the quiet coach!
Going forward, I'll still use the app for train times, but I'll book on the website in the future - it has a feature to pick the exact seat you want, and I'll better use that.

Update, listening to comments, fixing issues... it seems to be exactly the same...

Since the app’a update to version 2 it has become absolutely useless. I used to be able to quickly book tickets on the go with this app, with all the prices and times neatly laid out and live train time checking was a breeze. Now it’s awkward and I only book my tickets online via my laptop. The live train times is pretty much useless now too; it doesn’t even accommodate late arrivals. Also, your ticket information is spread across three screens, firstly your seat and time of travel, then another screen for barcode and type of ticket, and then a seemingly useless faux ticket that flashes when your ticket is active. Want to check your seats? Cancel looking at the ticket and return to the start. It seems very poorly planned.

Not at all accessible with voiceover

I’d have given this zero stars but, for concern that the review would not be submitted. Anyway, appalling accessibility with voiceover, the natvie screen reader found on all apple devices. Blind people can simply not use the app in its current form. But, there is consistency, It was not in any way accessible before. I could not purchase a ticket and even when I logged in, your service has not remembered any of my card details. I should not have to spend two hours trying to work around your care less attitude to accessibility. Same with the mobile website when trying to claim a delay repay for a journey last week. I will press you for answers on this via the Equality Act 2010. I would not have written a review here if your customer services team had been more helpful, for the record, I did direct message them.
