A must-have app for all Virgin TV customers
The Virgin TV Control app means you can control your TiVo or Virgin TV V6 box from anywhere in the world, wherever you have an internet connection with WiFi, 3G or 4G.
The Best Bits
As a Virgin TV customer, this app lets you:
• Manage your recordings – set up a Series Link+ from anywhere in the world when you’re connected to the internet
• Control your TV – if your TiVo box is connected to the same home network as your device you can turn your mobile or tablet into a handy remote control
• Speed up the way you search and browse – search using your device’s QWERTY keypad instead of the remote
• If you have a Virgin TV V6 box powered by TiVo you can stream selected recordings to your device
• The app connects directly to your TiVo or Virgin TV V6 box so that you can see if there is a recording clash or storage space is low
What you need
• Be a Virgin TV customer
• An iPhone, iPod touch or iPad, running iOS 8 or later, with WiFi, 3G or 4G internet access
• Your My Virgin Media username and password
For security reasons, and to protect the rights of our content partners, the Virgin TV Control app cannot be used on jailbroken devices, where unauthorised modifications have been made to the operating system.

Ratings and Reviews
Meh! S’OK. I guess.
Nice new icon, with a much more up to date, and long overdue design approach, promising a brand new, rebuilt from the ground up, app, but rest assured, you will be underwhelmed.
The app is pretty much unchanged, apart from the removal of the handy ‘Watch on iPhone’ option when selecting a show from the guide. If you want to do that, your experience is now fragmented into a whole separate app.
Not exactly progress.
Hopefully they’re working on redesigning the app to match the fresh and simple promise of the new icon. Won’t hold my breath though.
I’m not saying the app is broken or has poor functionality. It does the job ok, and is the only way you can access your box via app, so... it is what it is.
An ok app
As this is the first time I’ve used this app, I cannot comment on what others have said.
I actually quite like this app as it’s quick and easy to flick through channels via the guide.
Also, seeing as my kids always hides the darn remote, this app has that covered too... but... the remote feature is very flaky.
When the remote loses connection, it really does lose connection and you cannot reconnect using the connect option. The only way is to: logout, quit the app, relaunch and renter the credentials - which can become very annoying. So for that I’m giving it 4 stars.
A lot of fuss for old app
Was getting emails and prompts over the last week for the new app launching. To be fair, I do make full use of the app and I like the new virgin to app, however I would have expected this app to be built to include larger screens. The old app adjusted to fit my iPhone 7 which was frustrating, but I thought with the release of iPhone X and the amount of marketing they’ve put into this new app, they would have got the basics sorted - i.e. the screen resolution support of the range of phones out there. Something Virgin Media seem to have lacked behind with in this app (and not just the most recent release either)
Up to six family members will be able to use this app with Family Sharing enabled.
