Description

Walk More is a simple and powerful pedometer. It helps you keeping track of:
• Every step you take
• The distance you walk
• How many stairs you climb*

You can set a daily goal, see your progress inside the Notification Center widget and review your statistics and top results with the help of simple graphs.

There's no healthier habit than taking long walks, and there is no better way to be more active than to keep track of your progress with Walk More!

Walk More will request access to your Motion and Fitness data in order to provide its core functionality (number your steps, distance walked, floors climbed); denying access to Motion and Fitness will cause the app to provide very little functionality.
Walk More currently does not have an Apple Watch app and does not merge steps taken when wearing only Apple Watch to its step count.

* Floors detection is available only on iPhone 6 and newer devices.

Uncertain measures

E njoyed a “score” Re movements, but not convinced it is counting steps. My first 3000+ score was based on cooking & washing up all inside a small kitchen. Plenty of movement but very few real steps in a full walking stride.
I’d be grateful for a description of what counts as a step.

Developer Response ,

Hello and thank you for using Walk More and for taking the time to leave a review. My app uses your iPhone's built-in mechanism to detect and count steps.
Your iPhone can track steps because its circuitboard contains a handful of very small accelerometers; as their name suggests, these can detect and measure acceleration and therefore sense when the phone is being moved in any of the 3D planes – and how quickly.
So, while you might only consider a long stride during a power walk a step, your phone is actually counting each actual step you do, actually with excellent precision, and Walk More gives you a window to monitor your results taking advantage of Apple's own reliable technology while providing a gratifying interface and quickly glanceable history.
Same goes for counting steps, thanks to the accelerometer going up and down stairs is precisely detected, though in this case climbing a steep hill might make the sensors think you're on stairs.
I hope this clarifies the app's behaviour for you, and I remain available at support@cdf1982.com if you have more questions.
Thank you again for using my app and ciao from Italy, Cesare
