What's New in Version 3.0
Connect to your Personal Weather Stations: MeteoGroup has teamed up with Netatmo, the developers of the first ever Personal Weather Station to work in conjunction with an app. The Netatmo Weather Stations come with indoor and outdoor sensors which monitor weather and air quality, measuring CO 2 concentration, noise pollution, humidity and more.
Netatmo Weather Stations are available worldwide and you can now access the information from all of your personal sensors using WeatherPro. Visit Favourites on WeatherPro for iPad 3.0 to login to your Netatmo account or discover more about Netamo Weather Stations.
Plus: Following user feedback, the location you currently have selected will be highlighted if it is in your favourites list and we have made some small bug fixes and optimizations for iOS 6 and 7 including 64 bit support.
Easy to use and understand.
I've been using this for sometime now, I've had a subscription to the add on bits too but although I loved the precipitation radar I don't really miss anything else.
Sometimes it is very accurate other times it's hopelessly wrong just like any other weather forecast, yesterday there was frost on my lawn and it said it was 3c in my village, today I have no frost and it says it's 1c. I found that the best way to get an idea as to whether or not it would rain is to look at the precipitation radar (only available if you pay extra) and see if the rain is heading your way. If you do pay extra and hope for 2 week ahead forecasts you may be disappointed, I found that the extra week generally had average temperatures and weather for the time of year with no real forecast as such. The forecasts do change very frequently so you may look at it on Monday and think there is going to be a horrendous downpour all day Saturday, then you'll look at it Tuesday and there's only a bit of light rain Saturday. On Wednesday they've changed their minds again and the rain on Saturday is back!
I do love this app though, my son thinks I pay too much attention to it. I find it's the clearest and easiest to understand and the radar maps are brilliant. If I didn't I would have swapped to something else by now.
Great app but a little unintuitive
I use Weather Pro on my iPhone and liked it enough to pick this up too. It has the same comprehensive information and a similarly clean interface which is all to the good.
However I do find some aspects of the iPad version a little unintuitive and the overall look a little cluttered. For instance, in the landscape view you don't get the summary of the current weather anywhere on screen, which seems bizarre when that's the thing most people are going to want to look at. Viewing the daily summary also occurs entirely in a little popover window which is quite small.
Overall I think the app would benefit from not trying to get quite so much on-screen all at once and instead spread the information more cleanly across several different pages. But all that said it's still an accurate and comprehensive guide to the current weather.
Whether I go or not...
Whether I go or not.... Weather Pro on my ipad and my windows phone is my choice for planning cycling in the UK and the near continent.
It's accuracy I take for granted and rely on the forecast and satellite maps for both long and short term rain, temp and especially wind predictions.
Layout, location searches and very easy interface on both ipad and phone have made it possible to make informed choices as to when to travel out and make the most of good conditions.
For my purposes, I cannot fault it.
