The app doesn’t update the magazines at the same tine as the store version is available, they take a subscription and don’t provide the goods.

Update Urgently Required. Haymarket take note.

I used to subscribe to the paper version of this magazine a couple of years ago and ave always enjoyed the reviews and information contained within. I was looking forward to renewing my subscription using this app.
I had downloaded the previous version of the app, which worked fine with the random issues I had purchased, and updated when the new version was launched.
As a birthday gift my wife said she would pay for the subscription to the magazine for a year.
However, after reading the reviews she asked me if I was sure the subscription was what I wanted.
Of course it was then that I discovered that the updated app was flawed in that the text is unreadable, rendering my previous copies useless and, until corrective action is taken, Haymarket will not be adding this user as a subscriber. I guess that there are many others who won't be spending their hard-earned on this either.


This is a major issue which needs resolving. The app brings your magazine right up to speed as, I'm sure, many readers would prefer to access the magazine via hand held devices and archive previous issues digitally. You are missing a trick, and more importantly to you, revenue from your customers. If you're not careful, not to mention quick, people like me might just choose to spend their money on a fully working version from 'AutoExpress' instead.

Trashed by latest update

Found a name that wasn't taken

Was halfway through reading last year's Car Of The Year special edition. Opened the app today to find myself forced onto a purchase screen with no explanation and no way back to my content. Had to manually check my automatic update history to find out the app had been updated. It then forced me to register with them to continue using the app, only to then find my downloaded content had been deleted and I now need to pay to purchase the magazine I was halfway through reading.

As if that's not crap enough, the "new format" magazine is just a cheap digitised copy of the paper layout instead of the far better bespoke digital layout they used to used.

Am now deleting this cheap, lazy app. If you really want something photoshopped from the print layout instead of genuinely designed for iPad, and a magazine that removes your downloaded content then expects you to pay to get it back, this'll do. For a quality app, look elsewhere.
