Take results with a pinch of salt!
I love using this app, and it’s fascinating trying it out on different books and sources to see what sort of results it gives.I like being offered the opportunity to buy the font or to share it.
However in cases where I do know the font, it doesn’t seem to give good answers. It doesn’t seem to recognise Microsoft Word fonts at all (though it does know about Trebuchet).
Not good for old fonts. Maybe better for new?
Not terribly helpful on older books. It gave me four different answers on four different words from the same book page, from a book from 1991. Also brings up a list of possibilities rather than nailing it down to one. Might be better for new, computer-generated fonts.
Very useful tool
I think this app is great - used it to reverse engineer a business card design which I liked. Okay so it gives you a list of font choices, rather than identifying just the one, but that allows you to explore other fonts with minor tweaks to serifs or loops.
