Wikipanion Plus arrives for the iPad!

The best gets even better! Enhance Wikipedia with queue mode, designed for keeping track of entries you want to read in the future. Add entries to the queue easily while browsing, and optionally save them for faster visiting or offline browsing. Downloading entries for offline or accelerated reading happens in the background while you browse and read other pages, so you don't have to stop and wait for pages to be saved.

Excellent so far

I was hesitant to purchase this product with Wikipedia being free and only two taps on the screen harder to access, however the added functionality is easily worth the £2.99.
As a science student I spend half of my life on Wikipedia, and am very impressed with the additions in functionality, particularly the panel to the left that allows you to always have the quick jump menu available. I'm also very pleased with the option to add other wikis to the search function, which simplifies searching significantly and decreases time wasted. Finally, possibly the most useful function is the offline saving of pages! A very much needed improvement to Wikipedia!
I'll update this as I use it and discover more, but so far I definitely will recommend this to my fellow students.

Best in its class

I have been using Wikipanion for the iPad for the last four years and the experience has always been exceptional. I first got it as I wanted some sort of Encyclopaedia and this seemed to fit the bill.

Once I started using it, I found the app more than fitted my requirements. It handles large quantities of entries without even stumbling. I believe I currently have over 2gb of data stored in this app.

The developer is always helpful, should you have a problem, and is quick to respond to any queries or problems. Since I started using Wikipanion, it has been steadily refined. The design and layout are logical, pleasant to use, well thought out and comes highly recommended.

Fantastic app for iPad

WIkipanion is already one of my main iPhone apps. The queueing system allows you to queue linked articles in the background for later reading, without disturbing the main article that you're currently reading.

I'm glad to say that the iPad version of the app does the same, but also takes advantage of the larger iPad screen to enable you to see the list of queued items on the left. These items can be easily selected for reading.

This system also makes it easy to select bookmarks and history, but for me the quick queue access alone makes this app worth the price. It's amazing how much this improves the usability of Wikipedia.
