Ratings and Reviews
Best Screenwriting App
This is by far the best screenwriting app to appear on the iStore to date. I've tried many, including the big names, and none come as close to the experience of a PC based software as this one. The best feature is the ability to share the script between the iPad, the online WriterDuet site and my laptop's desktop app - no need to upload it anywhere, save it to a third party site - it's all self contained. Excellent.
Basic but good at what it does
This is, alongside Celtx, my go to screen writing software and I love it. Yes it's basic, and it's feature list could be written on the back of a stamp but that makes it extremely easy to use and allows you, the writer, to get on with laying down your scenes without having to worry about how to switch to a transition or dialogue etc.
It may not be for all, but what is, personally though I love it and highly recommend it to any beginner screenwriters or even more advanced users looking for a basic screenwriting program that is both browser based (making use while travelling or away from the office a breeze) and available as desktop software for PC and Mac and (although I haven't used it yet - I'm literally downloading the app while writing this review) as an app for iOS. Give it a go, it's free (browser version - a pro upgrade via a monthly or annual subscription is required for the desktop versions).
I signed up for the online service just so I could collaborate with other people in a very simple project. I didn't have high expectations but they were quickly exceeded. It really works well. Thrilled to discover this native app which improves the iOS experience enormously. I haven't been back to my 'real' screenwriting software in over a year. Syncing/collaborating just works, but there are plenty of offline backups in case of mishap.
Up to six family members will be able to use this app with Family Sharing enabled.
