Spinebuster! Elbow drop! Scissor kick! We love the way WWE Champions connects puzzle play and ringside action—letting us use specific color-matches to trigger bone-shaking moves. And its superstar-filled roster and playful attitude are pretty great, too. As The Miz would say, this game is "AWWESOMMME!”
Great fun, worst loot
Ok, I’ve been playing this game for quite a while now, from more or less after it just came out. It is a lot of fun. Generally, it is a match-3 gem game with added mechanics around the WWE superstars and their moves. The RPG aspect is good too, adding sufficient strategy to the game. Takes a bit of thinking, and a bit of luck, and a bit of using the right move at the right time.
However, as the game has grown, so has the paywall. Weekend events can’t be finished without dropping 1000s in real money. That isn’t an exaggeration. The loot odds are abysmal. While there is a very ‘token’ way of displaying odds for the tiers within the loot, we aren’t told the individual odds and, as they say, the devil is in the detail. I genuinely suspect you’d have more chance of getting a decent win on the lottery.
So… fun game and if you are prepared to spend you will go far. However even if you do spend be ready to weep at the ridiculously bad pulls.
A game that had potential now destroyed by money
It started so well, it’s fun to an extent. But all of a sudden it’s become about money. With constant bugs, £2500 to max one weekend event where you can’t get points otherwise, busted mechanics that are only in the favor of spenders. More and more people leave every day and that’s from top 20 factions.
Events are either long and drawn out or 2mins long with no middle ground. Faction events and solo events are now separated to a point that you can’t benefit properly from either. Starting events have caps so you can spend to win or muzzle out your team so you can do your 1% at their expense. Also the climb to the top is now a struggle. With certain coaches unobtainable, a 2 star bronze-5 star gold being about a 6month project depending on what coin,tp and tokens you can obtain. But that’s ok you can spend to make it quicker.
I’ve been playing for 5 years and about to get monthly chases. This month they have increased everything apart from the dwindling resources making it impossible to max without spending. In the politest way I can say it, this game can now do one.
