About Conjunto Primavera

Mexico’s Conjunto Primavera became one of norteño’s most successful bands in 1990s and 2000s, thanks to their blend of traditional instrumentation with elements of pop, soul, and R&B. ∙ Since 1998’s Necesito Decirte, they’ve had four No. 1 hits and more than a dozen other Top 10 appearances on Billboard’s Latin Albums chart. ∙ In a rare feat for regional music, their ballad “Hoy Como Ayer” was a crossover hit, topping the Hot Latin Songs chart and earning a Billboard Latin Music Award. ∙ In 2008, they were honored with a Billboard Lifetime Achievement Award for their unique contributions to regional Mexican music over three decades. ∙ The two-time Grammy nominees won Latin Grammy Awards for their single “Aun Sigues Siendo Mia” and their 2014 album, Amor Amor. ∙ Frontman Tony Meléndez spent three years balancing band duties and politics after becoming an elected representative for the state of Chihuahua.
