About Ecos del Rocío

Andaluz quartet Ecos del Rocio have enjoyed a long-lasting career carving out a niche for flamenco-inspired music in the pop world. Formed in the 1980s, Ecos del Rocio's members (Juan Manuel, Paco, Jesús and Miguel) were sons of farmers in Rota, Cadíz. Thanks to the support of the Fundacíon Alcalde Zoilo Ruis-Mateos, the fledgling group were able to form a strong foundation and begin recording early. Their first LP was released in 1984, initiating a discography that would come to include more than a dozen titles. International touring and a strong radio presence over their two decades of productivity established Ecos del Rocio as one of the most influential (albeit not most popular) rhumba fusion groups of the '80s and '90s.
