About Fancy Trash

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. An early music memories was actually while still in the crib. I can remember my older brother cranking "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" by the Rolling Stones — my earliest memory of music! It was scary but awesome. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Charles Mingus, Charles Mingus Presents Charles Mingus (Remastered) Neil Young, After the Gold Rush The Beatles, The Beatles (The White Album) I bought The Beatles' "The White Album" in third grade and it has remained a favorite. Neil Young's "After The Gold Rush" was a formative record in my own songwriting. And, lastly, the Charles Mingus was a street find in my 20's. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Wants Not to Love” This was the first song we learned as a band, and it set the tone early on and gave us the confidence to keep going. We had our first practice, learned this song, felt inspired, and played our first show together. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I’ve been fortunate to have had some great opportunities. I got to open up a Neil Young in my 20s (see the "all time favorite albums" question!). I've also opened for Los Lobos and The Jayhawks. All those experiences have been great and memorable. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I’ve always wanted to make a double live album. Our new "The Pushkin Sessions" is live in the studio, so I'm getting closer to that dream!
