About Kaya

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I started my career when I was young at the age of 9 with the rock opera Starmania by Luc Plamondon & Michel Berger. I did my first platinum record at 10 and later signed with CBS and Sony at 18. A long journey for me for sure. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Céline Dion, Céline Dion Gino Vannelli, Gino Vannelli: The Best Sting, Fields of Gold - The Best of Sting (1984-1994) [Remastered] The strong melodies & jazz approach of Vanelli's first album have been a great influence on me. Then Sting with Fields of Gold, this song is still great & I worked with Celine for many years sharing the same management and doing concerts together... Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Seven Seconds Too Late” I will always remember when Evan Lamberg, VP of EMI New York, called me to say the demo was one of the best songs he had ever heard and made him cry. His call just woke me up & I was dreaming that my white car was entering in a huge limousine. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Recording my last album in New York with Russ DeSalvo (Paul McCartney, Celine Dion, etc.)... we have done this album because I wanted to share my spiritual journey with dreams. Now my life has changed as a professor of symbolic language... Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I hope the "Born Under the Star of Change" album will continue to be a great inspiration for those who are in a spiritual awakening. The song Finally Free (when this young girl died of leukemia) & her visit in my dreams still resonate today in me.
