About Luder

Detroit, MI's Luder arose from the ashes of a defunct local alternative rock band named Slot, when the latter's overlooked recordings were issued by the Small Stone label in 2006 to commemorate the recent passing of Slot guitarist Billy Rivkin. This led to a special hometown performance and an appearance at the 2007 SXSW festival, featuring Slot bassist/vocalist Sue Lott and drummer Eddie Alterman augmented by guitarists Phil Durr (ex-Big Chief, Five Horse Johnson, etc.) and Scott Hamilton, who also happened to be Small Stone's owner. Pleasantly surprised by their on-stage chemistry, three of the four continued to jam together thereafter, duly recruiting drummer Eric Miller (Five Horse Johnson, ex-Novadriver) to record a proper album, Sonoluminescence, under the newly chosen moniker of Luder for release in 2009. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia
