About Man Man

It's not uncommon to see Philadelphia quartet Man Man's everything-but-the-kitchen-sink approach to rock described as weird, quirky, and esoteric. Although such terms don't quite do their sound justice. They use guitars, vocals, keyboards, and drums, as well as toys, junk, “old shoes and stuffed frogs,” so comparisons to avant-garde skronk rockers such as Tom Waits and Frank Zappa (especially in the vocal department) go without saying. Since their 2004 debut, THE MAN IN THE BLUE TURBAN WITH A FACE, they have captured the attention of national touring acts such as Modest Mouse, and the face base that goes with them.
