Matthew Sabatella has lent his bass guitar, songwriting, and singing skills on a number of albums released by other artists. After years of gaining experience performing with groups, he took fate by the throat and stepped onto a new path that slowly led him toward a solo career. Sabatella was born in Hartford, CT, on August 15, 1968. Music soon proved to be an important part of his life. There were a number of bands along the way and he polished his art a little more with each. After a move to Florida, Sabatella got serious about his music, and in 1988, he joined a popular rock band called Broken Spectacles. When he parted ways with the group, Sabatella went on to work with artists such as Amanda Green, Brian Franklin, Maria Marocka, Sixo, the Curious Hair, Jolynn Daniel, and many others. In 1994, the chance for a solo career seemed too tempting to over look. Fans seemed pleased with the pop/rock numbers Sabatella penned and performed. By 1997, he completed a full-length debut album, Where the Hell Am I?, filled with tracks like "Ain't it Hard," "Reverend Maddog," "Goodbye My Love," and "Memory Coast." Sabatella self-produced the album that showcases his keyboard and guitar talents along with his singing and songwriting. It was released under his own label, Slipstream Records. He did have some help on the recording, including singer and guitarist Brian Franklin, pianist Amanda Green, and drummer Jordan Steele Lash. In 2000, Matthew Sabatella found his way into the recording studio again. He had already captured a number of awards for his music, like being named as one of the best acoustic performers in Miami and earning a Best Bass Player Award from the South Florida Rock Awards. ~ Charlotte Dillon
