About Nasty Idols

This Swedish glam-metal quintet was formed in 1988 by vocalist Andy Pierce and guitarist Jonnie Wee, with Dick Qwarfort (bass), George Swanson (drums) and Roger White (keyboards) completing the line-up. They pursued a commercial hard rock direction in the style of Bon Jovi and Whitesnake, debuting with Gigolos On Parole to widespread indifference. Wee was soon replaced by Peter Espinoza on guitar, and his arrival marked a move towards a more glam-metal image, with Mötley Crüe and Hanoi Rocks influences taking over. Cruel Intention was the result, released in 1991. A marked improvement, it nevertheless failed to emulate this new set of influences in terms of commercial reward.
