About The Donnas

Aspiring to nothing more than a good old-fashioned rock & roll party, the Donnas won a cult following and considerable media attention with a sound described as "the Ramones meet the Runaways," with a definite emphasis on the former. Scoring a record deal right out of high school in the late '90s, they made a shift to the majors in the early 2000s for their breakthrough set, 2002's Spend the Night, which brought mainstream success with notable singles "Take It Off" and "Who Invited You." Follow-up Gold Medal yielded two additional hits, but label and lineup changes soon resulted in their effective breakup by the late 2000s. Their seventh set, 2007's Bitchin', would be their last album, with retrospective releases continuing their legacy in 2009 (Greatest Hits Vol. 16) all the way to 2023 (Early Singles 1995-1999).
