"Mr Stink stank. He also stunk. And if it was correct English to say he stinked, then he stinked as well….” Chloe sees Mr Stink every day, but she’s never spoken to him. Which isn’t surprising, because he’s a tramp, and he stinks. But there’s more to Mr Stink than meets the eye (or nose), and before she knows it, Chloe has an unusual new friend hiding in her garden shed. As Chloe struggles to keep Mr Stink a secret, and her dad tries to hide a secret of his own, the stage is set for an epic family confrontation. But there's one other person with an extraordinary secret: Mr Stink himself.
This was great - we listened to it on a long drive and was funny to our 9 year old and us! In fact we all agreed we couldn't wait to get back in the car to hear the end.
Would highly recommend and shall be getting the other book by him for our next trip.
A really great story told fabulously by David Walliams and Matt Lucas. Very funny and quite sad at the end...a must buy!
Bit of a let down
We had high hopes for this book, but sadly it just didn't get my daughter hooked (unlike others of a similar ilk that had her transfixed from the start) so we switched it off after a couple of chapters. Perhaps it was us, perhaps we should have persevered, but it just didn't interest her in the slightest. We may re-visit it again another time, but for now there are plenty other books that appeal to her imagination more.
