Set in the Dorset landscape familiar to Hardy novels,
The Woodlanders concerns the fortunes of Giles Winterborne, whose love for the well-do-do Grace Melbury is challenged by the arrival of a dashing and dissolute doctor, Edred Fitzpiers. Customer Reviews
WOW
A gripping tale, so relevant even today, of the perversities of the human condition,of love, class wars, betrayal, tragedy, and the damage done when parents aspire to put their children in a position that favours their own ambitions, regardless of what is best for their offspring . Samuel West's, narration is first class. Great value for money.
