The Wind in the Willows

Far from fading with time, Kenneth Grahame's classic tale of fantasy has attracted a growing audience in each generation. Rat, Mole, Badger and the preposterous Mr Toad, have brought delight to many through the years with their odd adventures on and by the river, and at the imposing residence of Toad Hall.
The book itself needs no introduction and Richard Briers reading does it justice. For me, he is to Wind in The Willows what Stephen Fry is to Harry Potter and Tony Robinson is to the Discworld. I couldn't imagine listening to this read by anyone else. However, please note this is an abridged version contrary to the iTunes listing.
Jolly good show!
Kenneth Grahame's excellent classic is most splendidly complimented by Richard Briers' masterful and definitive reading. Briers' characterisations are spot on and I cannot imagine any other voices for Mole, Ratty, Badger and Toad. I rationed myself to an hour an evening but even so the joyful experience ended all too soon. A most entertaining and enjoyable audiobook and highly recommended for discerning listeners of all ages. Bravo!
