"William Emeny's '100 Things Awesome Teachers Do' is a fantastic book, crammed full of wonderfully unique ideas to engage learners, improve learning and create that buzz about your classroom. The book is separated into 10 key topics, each with 10 innovative ideas. It is thoroughly enjoyable to read and can easily be dipped in and out of as required. This isn't a book that focusses how to pull off a single outstanding lesson to please the requirements of a formal lesson observation, although it does help with that! This book is more about getting excellent learning going in your classroom everyday, day-in day-out. The book is full of tried-and-tested ideas that teachers have learned both from academic research and The University of Life and Experience.
Bursting with ideas about things awesome teachers do, this book should give both newbies and seasoned pros something new to try out!
Great book. Fantastic ideas
This is a great book. Really handy to have around. Full of good ideas for teaching new and interesting ways. Would definitely recommend!
Great to dip into!
An excellent handy book to have as a teacher. What I particularly like is how you can dip in and out at will - naturally you can't do all 100 at once! But this enables you to pick up
top tips here and there and is nicely divided up into sensible sections. Each tip is covered concisely so nothing drags on or feels like too much of a burden to carry through into your own practice. Some tips you may have heard of, some you may be implementing already but there are the unusual and radical too! An excellent, well thought through and well put together book, even us busy busy busy teachers can find time to delve into it! I'll let William know when I'm ready for the next 100 but that maybe some time!
Finally a decent read for teachers of Maths. It's refreshing to read a book which is realistic, offering both simple and innovative advice. You can definitely dip in and out of this. Very easy and enjoyable read!
