One of the hardest parts of getting a children’s picture book right is to have a great story, backed up with amazing illustrations, Chloe the curly necked giraffe, by Tessa Winship has just that. From the moment you open the pages you’re in full watercolour heaven with the cutest giraffe yet to come alive, and by coming alive, Chloe, thanks to the magic of ebooks and partial animation, moves, talks and battles a mean old hippo, as we hear the author read her story out loud.
Set to verse and using the typeface that aids with dyslexia the story is easy to learn and the illustrations take you to a world where Chloe's curly neck is causing her trouble (who hasn’t been in a situation when you felt a little different from the rest) the author tackles this brilliantly. Chloe is charmingly unaware that her curly neck might indeed be a reason the others don’t take her seriously, until the day she has to warn them that trouble is indeed brewing. She’s funny, courageous and full of love, all the things you will want to add to a young reader’s library and with the magic of ebooks she is way ahead of the rest
