Gripping
What a good read. One finds themselves compelled to get to the end of this book. You're rooting the whole way through for the truth to come out and for the central characters to find out. Great amount of plot depth with the side line characters keeps you gripped until the end and wanting more when you finish this one!
Shadow hunters city of Glass
Good book although Clary is even more annoying with her moaning and demands. Poor Jace and Sebastian is the darkest evil and I am so glad the books isn’t at all like the series.

City of Glass has to be the most awkward yet thrilling book in the Mortal Instruments series so far. We follow Clary to the Shadowhunter capital of Idris and follow her adventures. These include poor Simon being prisoned (as always), huge amounts of Lightwood drama and Clary's troubled relationship with brother Jace (which turns extremely awkward).
Clare's storytelling here is quick and suspenseful and she is particulary great towards the end. She introduces new characters, such as Aline, Amatis and Sebastian who are great additions. But Maia the werewolf steals the whole thing.
The one thing I would say as a bit of a critique is the Clary/Jace relationship. OML does it get out of hand very quickly!
But the whole thing pays off at the end, because when Clare throws the huge writing bomb it all kicks off in a thrilling finale that almost had me in tears! Great ending to the first half of the Shadowhunter books.
Shame the TV show didn't get this book right!
