Covet by Tracey Garvis Graves is a love story with a twist...

Claire Canton is at a crossroads in her marriage. Her husband Chris has recently taken some knocks from life, pushing him to retreat to a dark place where no one can reach him, not even Claire. She feels alone and with nowhere to turn . . .

Then Claire is pulled over by police officer Daniel Rush, a man with a tragic past. And a random encounter blossoms into a friendship, which brings much needed light into both their lives.

As their relationship intensifies it's not long before Claire and Daniel are in way over their heads and skating close to a line that Claire has sworn she'll never cross . . .

But is it too late to go back? And does she even want to?

From Publishers Weekly

29 July 2013 – Graves follows her runaway self-publishing hit, On the Island, with this mostly forgettable tale of a crumbling suburban marriage. Claire Canton, a freelance graphic designer and mother of two, feels disconnected from her husband, Chris. Their marriage has been on a downslide since he was laid off four years earlier, and the antidepressants he still takes have adversely affected their sex life. Enter Daniel a hot cop who s instantly attracted to Claire. The feeling is mutual and the two begin spending more time together, first under the pretense of Claire redesigning a logo for the police department, and then against Claire s better judgment as friends, inevitably causing Claire to examine her marriage and morals. Romance fans will enjoy the few steamy sex scenes, but may be disappointed by the slow pacing and lack of action elsewhere.

Customer Reviews

Great read

I like all 3 main characters in this book: Claire, Chris, and Daniel. The story is definitely not predictable, for which I loved it. And even though he might not be liked by everyone, Daniel is my favourite.

Good book, not as good as on the island but still good.

Pointless and frustrating.

I didn't like either Claire or Chris.
I don't have children so I was bored by the minutiae of details about motherhood.
Just not for me👎
