This book is an interactive multitouch and media rich resource for students studying physics AS-Level. It is an ideal aid to learning physics, a reference throughout your course and a helpful revision resource in the run up to exams. It contains content adapted from OCR’s Physics A specification (H158) to provide an overview of the essential content for the whole course. Additionally there are sections on key graphs and practical applications of physics – with quality diagrams to illustrate.
The specification overviews are grouped according to OCR's assessed units for GCE AS Physics A (i.e. G481, G482 and G483). There are also sections on the mathematical requirements for the course, help with transposing equations and links to physics resources that encourage deeper independent learning (often beyond the scope of the A-Level) and foster a greater interest in physics.
1. Essential content for the OCR AS-Level Physics A course.
2. Built in glossary of key terms with links embedded into the content overviews to enhance the usefulness of the overview.
3. Instant study cards based on the pre built glossary – plus any further notes you make.
4. Annotated graphs that you need to be familiar with.
5. Annotated diagrams of practical applications of physics relevant to each unit.
6. Links to interesting physics websites and videos to stretch your learning.
7. Hyperlinks between relevant content.
8. Help section for key mathematical concepts.
9. Review questions to check your understanding.
This book is not endorsed by OCR. Some sections include OCR content which has been used with permission and remains © OCR 2013. For more details please see the copyright notice on page ii.
I am constantly seeking to improve my resources. Please send me any ideas you have for new features or to tell me about any other animations or images that you would like to see included. I can be contacted by email (email@example.com), Twitter (@lscphysics), or via my website: www.lscphysics.wix.com/home. I consider all requests and implement what I can!
What's New in Version 2.0
Specification content for Unit 1 updated to include the main new content for 2015: • B.3 (k) Upthrust and Archimedes' principle – includes new terms in the built in glossary. • D.1 Newton’s Laws of Motion – includes new terms in the built in glossary. • D.2 Collisions – includes new terms in the built in glossary. Specification content for Unit 1 updated to indicate content that is not required for 2015: • B.4 (d) and (e) Car safety features – these may appear but only as applications of theory for Forces and Motion. • B.4 (f) GPS is not part of the new specification. The content remains in the book but has been struck through to indicate it is no longer required.
Best physics revision tool ever!
Covers everything that is a must know for A-level Physics and makes revision fun I can now take my physics revision to new heights thanks to this E-book I would like to thank the maker for making this piece of art because physics is no longer a problem, simply a must have is all I can say.-Ahmed Ali, A-level student.
