Adoption & Fostering 2009, Winter, 33, 4

This book is available for download with iBooks on your Mac or iOS device, and with iTunes on your computer. Books can be read with iBooks on your Mac or iOS device.

Introduction and background Life story work is a commonly used intervention with looked after young people and there are many excellent guides to its use in practice. Surprisingly, however, there has been little research carried out on such practice, the effectiveness of life story work or the experiences of those who take part. This article reports on a study exploring the perspectives of 12 young people who have experienced life story work. The study, although small in scale, highlights some important experiences and emotions of young people when discussing these experiences and points to potential future directions for research.
