This book can be downloaded and read in Apple Books on your Mac or iOS device.
Sophie Whittaker shared a terrifying secret. Hours later, she was dead.
Detective Kay Hunter and her colleagues are shocked by the vicious murder of a teenage girl at a private party in the Kentish countryside.
A tangled web of dark secrets is exposed as twisted motives point to a history of greed and corruption within the tight-knit community.
Confronted by a growing number of suspects and her own enemies who are waging a vendetta against her, Kay makes a shocking discovery that will make her question her trust in everyone she knows.
One to Watch is a gripping murder mystery thriller, and the third in the Detective Kay Hunter series:
1. SCARED TO DEATH
2. WILL TO LIVE
3. ONE TO WATCH
4. HELL TO PAY (out 2017)
A page-turning whodunit for fans of Jeffery Deaver, Peter James, David Baldacci and James Patterson.
One to Watch Rachel Amphlett
With this being the third in series I feel I have come to know Detective Kay Hunter quite well, and I have the feeling - not that I have any special knowledge - that this series is nearer the truth about police investigations than most books or dramas I'm acquainted with.
As always - and one of the things I love about this author's writing - we are straight into the action from the very beginning. Hereditary titles and 'nouveau riche' feature strongly in this novel - and for some time I suspected almost everyone of being the guilty party, with the exception of the actual murderer, of course! Great characterisation, a very believable story and so much going on behind the scenes makes for another gripping and powerful read.
Beautifully written and with a hint to the next one, I find myself speeding through Ms. Amphlett's books and confess she is at the top of my favourite author list. I shall be on tenterhooks to see where Kay Hunter heads next. I can hardly wait!
I received an arc from the author in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
One to watch
I really like Kay Hunter and I really enjoy reading about her investigations. There are some books that are just a pleasure to turn each page - One to Watch is one of those books. Highly Recommended.
Low on characterisation
My second outing with this writer and now my last. During the first book I read and now this one, the main character is still biting or chewing her lip all the way through which I found really irritating. How does that add anything? The same goes for constantly having to read how the side kicks take their note books again -enough already I get it.
