Stanley is very upset to hear that his good friend Edward has been bitten by a water-rat and has had to go into hospital. He goes to visit him .. but hospital signs are strange, and corridors confusing, and the visit turns into a remarkable adventurer involving Arab sheiks and a dangerous eye operation.
