From Publishers Weekly

03 September 2018 – Morgan (How to Keep a Secret) mixes angst, love, and family in an all-too-lifelike emotional jumble of childhood hurts, sisterly rivalry, and unexpected pregnancies that's as much women's fiction as romance. As children, sisters Hannah, Beth, and Posy lost their parents to a mountain-climbing accident. Adopted by their mother's friend Suzanne, the accident's sole survivor, and her husband, Stewart, the sisters move from Washington State to Scotland. Fast-forward 25 years, and Hannah is a driven workaholic who refuses to get close to anyone; Beth is a stay-at-home mother to two rambunctious girls and longs for her old career; and Posy, a frustrated adventurer, remains with Suzanne and Stewart, running the family cafe. Heading home for Christmas, each sister holds a painful secret. Suzanne feels responsible for making everyone happy until unexpected visitors prove Christmas magic exists. Heartfelt and sensitive, Morgan's sometimes bittersweet Christmas tale emphasizes the importance of family.

Another Engaging Story by Sarah Morgan

Set in the snowy Scottish Highlands this Christmas story is told from the viewpoint of four women. Due to a tragedy twenty five years ago, Christmas has always been a holiday overshadowed by what happened and the need by their adoptive mother to make things perfect at this time of year often leads to stress and tension. The three sisters have vastly different personalities and have drifted apart emotionally, each think that the other’s have perfect, put-together lives. Crises in Beth and Hannah’s lives bring them home early for Christmas and gradually their insecurities are exposed and they open up to each other and find a way to be close again. The story flows well and the characters are interesting and I felt invested in their lives.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

There is such depth to this story, I was completely absorbed. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rated.

Of late, Sarah Morgan has been known for her series, Snow Crystal, Puffin Island and From Manhattan with Love and I would be fibbing if I said I was a little wary of her standalone books. However, her ability to bring so much depth to a multi-faceted story is second to none.

Not only do we learn about the lives, past, and present of the three sisters but of those around them too. They each have their own demons to slay and find that they are finally able to put them to rest when then lean on and open up to each other.
Hannah’s story is particularly heart-breaking, but readers can probably identify with each of the sisters in some way.

I highly recommend #TheChristmasSisters as a story which adds magic into festive romance.

My thanks to #Netgalley, @SarahMorgan_ and #HarperCollins for the opportunity to review #TheChristmasSisters
