If you love a good story, then look no further. Oxford Children's Classics bring together the most unforgettable stories ever told. They're books to treasure and return to again and again. When their father goes away unexpectedly, Roberta, Peter and Phyllis have to move with their mother from their London home to a cottage in the countryside. At the local station the children make friends with the porter, Perks, and spend their time waving to the passengers on the trains. But although they have many adventures on the railway, one question still remains is their father ever coming back? The latest welcome addition to the popular Oxford Children's Classics series.

The railway children

Very good language. It was interesting and quite sad in some parts, quite tense in some, and the other parts were happy. It was enjoyable and it is a book I will read again. I recommend this book to people who like classic stories. 5 star

The railway children

A brilliant book a bit sad at times but in others joyfull!!

I'm one of those people who finds it difficult to start a book but if I like it, I have to read it all in on go. I've tried reading some classical books but if they don't interest me in the first chapter, I just can't go on. But this book, I don't know how, but I literally finished it all in one go (4 hours) despite it being a classical. It interested me straightaway. It's so heartwarming. I'm actually inspired by those children. Excellent book.
